the National co-ordination Board for GATE 2010 in its 35th meeting held on 23rd November at Guwahati has resolved as under:
“It was decided that examination for PY paper would be conducted along with the JAM 2010 examination. The AICTE will be responsible for the examination and will announce it. The AICTE will handle setting of question papers, evaluating answer scripts, declaring results and all other aspects. The GATE committee will provide all the necessary help and guidance in conducting the examination for PY paper in 2010.”
you can log on http://www.pci.nic.in for conformation of notification and http://jam.iitm.ac.in/ for entrance date of exam with details.

ReplyDeletedear prashant and sunil, exam patterm may be different from gate pattern. still it is not disclosed by coordination board yet,u can check the latest updates on portal of JAM and which is http://jam.iitm.ac.in/. in this portal, exam date is 2-5-2010 and opening of online application will start from 22-12-2009.

ReplyDeletebecause, previously GATE( Entrance for M.Pharm.) was conducted by any one of IIT's. but from this year they exclude it for pharmacy.It may be due to there is no M.Pharm in their campus and a seperate department of pharmaceutical was formed under the ministry of chemicals and fretilizers. so, on the recommendation of PCI and AICTE, M.S.University Baroda would conduct a test(GPAT). and because it is conducted by different governing body, so exam pattern may be different.

ReplyDeletenow it is clear that GPAT is completely different from JAM.GPAT is just for m.pharm and conducted by M.S.University,baroda and JAM is for diffrent M.Sc programmes and condcted by IIT's.but their entrance date and centers are same.so dont worry, u have to think about only GPAT.

ReplyDeleteur confusion is right,but how can you give GATE or JAM. in both exams, there was no pharmacy choice.But GPAT exam is just for pharmacy students. so no need to worry. start preparation for GPAT with single mind..all d best..

ReplyDeleteyet there is no notice regarding boundation of attempts of this exam, but its validity will be of 1 year. so u will have to give the exam in 4th year also.

ReplyDeletesorry 4 giving late reply.ur concern is how to cmplete sylabus in 3 months. i cn suggest you some points or some books regarding dis matter. first u have to focus on pharmacology which u can follow K.D.tripathi's cology book. but by d time u have to cover medicinal chem. of foye's and harikrishan, V.K.Kapoor. u will have to make a common classification of drugs vid structure to cover both subject. then u can start cognosy and analysis along vid this preparation. for cognosy u have to follow TREASE nd Evans but kokate will also be sufficient. for analysis u have to follow remington (best for chromatography), silverstein and kemp (especially for mass nd uv)then u can follow gate book of piyush publications for ceutics and microbiology. then u can start biochem nd jurispudence ( sufficient from gate book of piyush publcation and gate book of birla publication wriiten by Mohammad Ali).alon vid this preparation u have to cover objective questions on a routine base from above both gate books. these, all above is only suugestion.

ReplyDeleteits gud that u r interstd in phd.gpat will have same status as of gate now. so preparation of gpat will obviously beneficial for getting admission in phd. but as per new gyidlines of UGC, each university will take its own entrance test for phd. no doubt gpat will give u lots of benefit , bcoz maximum gud institutes require gpat in desirable qualifications for getting admiossion in phd. nd scholarship will increase to 12000 as per new scale nd it will b same for both gender.
for gpat preparation piyush will not b sufficient, u have to cover extra matter from others books also, for details of books, u can chek my last comment in the same post.
nd my last suggestion is dont listen what other say, proove urself. all da best.

ReplyDeletein manipal, if a person is GPAT qualified then AICTE will provide financial aid as will provide in other institutes.upto last year financial aid was 8000 p.m. but if AICTE provide scholarship according to new plan then it will be 12000 p.m.
