Vacancy of Scientist in the Department of Science & Technology

From reference of ADVT. NO. DST / 05 / 2009–Rectt. of DST, Applications are invited from Indian citizens for filling up one post of Scientist ‘C’ and four posts of Scientist 'D' on direct recruitment basis in the Department of Science & Technology as per details given below :-


NAME OF POST : Scientist 'C'

SCALE OF PAY : Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3)+ Grade Pay Rs. 6600/-.
NO. OF VACANCIES: ONE – General
NATURE OF POST : Permanent
(a) ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Master’s Degree in Natural / Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
(b) DESIRABLE EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Doctorate Degree in Natural /Agricultural Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University.
(c) EXPERIENCE: Experience of four years in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions and / or Science and Technology organisations.


NAME OF POST : Scientist 'D'

SCALE OF PAY : Rs. 15600-39100 (PB-3)+ Grade Pay Rs. 7600/-.
NO. OF VACANCIES: FOUR – General
NATURE OF POST : Permanent
(a) ESSENTIAL EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Master’s Degree in Natural / Agricultural Sciences or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University or equivalent.
(b) DESIRABLE EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : Doctorate Degree in Natural / Agricultural Sciences or Master’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized University.
(c) EXPERIENCE: Experience of eight years in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions and /or Science and Technology organizations, out of which four years should be in Science and Technology programme, planning, development and coordination.

HOW TO APPLY : Applications should be neatly typed on thick plain paper (A-4 size 210 x 297 mm) in the prescribed format given below.


(a) A self-addressed post-card with requisite stamp should be sent along with the completed application. Candidates should indicate in this card the Advertisement number and name of the post applied for. The applications will be acknowledged by the Department by returning this card to the candidates after indicating the Registration number allotted to the candidate. Candidates may note that no separate acknowledgement other than this card will be sent to them. Separate application forms should be filled and sent for different post.
(b) Candidates working in Government Departments / Public Sector Undertakings / Autonomous organisations should apply through proper channel. Their applications must be accompanied with photocopies of upto date ACRs for the last five years (duly attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary or equivalent) and vigilance clearance.
(c) Copies of certificates in support of educational qualifications, date of birth, Disability, Community (in case of SC/ST/OBC candidates only) and experience should be attached with the application. Candidates will have to produce the original certificates as and when required.
(d) Applications received after the closing date or received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained.
(e) Completed applications should be sent to Under Secretary (Rectt.), Department of Science and Technology, Technology Bhavan, New Mehrauli Road, New Delhi – 110016, by Registered Post in a cover superscribed “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF SCIENTIST ‘C’ or SCIENTIST 'D'”(Separate application forms should be filled by the candidates applying for both the posts) within 30 days ( 45 days for those in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of Jammu and Kashmir State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep) from the date of publication of this advertisement.
